chelsea thai

I had to stop by Amy’s Bread in Chelsea Market today, because I’m working with them on a cookbook (more to come about that). I had 15 minutes to spare and I’d skipped lunch, so of course I headed over to Chelsea Thai. I’ve said it before, but there are way too many Thai places in New York City. But among the everyday Thai places, Chelsea Thai is a standout. Quick service, really generous portions, tons of veggie options, and something about their pad see ew noodles makes it perfect. I order that dish just about everywhere, and I can’t think of a place where I’ve had it better. On to my meeting, after which Amy Scherber gave me a piece of carrot cake to take home. (awwww, she’s so sweet) By the way, am I the only person who misses that restaurant Markt that used to be in the space where they opened the new Apple Store in the Meat Packing District? We didn’t really need another Apple Store, did we? Yes, I’m a Mac person, but I’m just sayin’.
