If you’ve been to Chicago before, this view is unmistakable. I was there over St. Patrick’s Day weekend but didn’t manage to get a shot of myself in front of the river after they dyed it. Yes, the river is always kinda green, but it’s electric on St. Paddy’s Day. Anyway, this entry is just to explain the next several, which will all be about Chicago. I didn’t move or anything. In fact, I’m already back home, enjoying some banana bread I baked last night from one of my favorite cookbooks. And I forgot to take a shot last night of this great shrimpy pasta dish I made. My girlfriend asked me where the recipe was from, and I had to think about it. I once signed up a book with the amazing Jody Adams, and the book was finally published (after I left the company) as In the Hands of a Chef. But the recipe I make is kind of a dumbed down version of hers. That’s the way I like to cook, especially after a long day at work.
