Actually I’m not leaving til Saturday, but I’ve gotta make plans now. It’s the way of a foodie. I’m heading to Boston mostly for a book launch party for Recipe of the Week: Ice Cream by Sally Sampson. There is going to be a fun book launch party at Toscanini’s — you can read a little more about the book and the event on Erin Cooks. As soon as I get to town, I’ll be stopping by Radius for dinner. They won the Beard Award the other night for Best Restaurant Northeast, so I have some pretty high expectations. I don’t think it will disappoint. Another highlight of my trip should be meeting pastry chef Joanne Chang. She’s written a cookbook proposal, and so I thought it would be fun to visit her at Flour. Her sticky buns are supposed to be incredible. I just happened to catch her on “Throwdown! with Bobby Flay” last night. It was pretty funny, and Bobbly got clobbered by Joanne.
