lobster done right

It’s not too hard to get a great lobster roll down here in NYC (Pearl, anyone?) So I headed over to B&G Oysters in Boston with high expectations. I was dining with a friend of chef/owner Barbara Lynch, so that set my expectations even higher. I loved hearing about (and tasting) their proprietary wines, and we were each treated to a fried oyster with their house made tartar sauce. After we whet our appetites with the fried calamari and some beautiful asparagus, the serious stuff came out. My dish is in the photo above. Besides being so pretty, that’s just about as perfect as a lobster roll gets. Maybe too perfect?

And for something really decadent, they offer this B.L.T. Lobster Roll. Now that’s a serious lunch. After dining, I stopped over to visit Stir and Plum Produce across the street (all owned by Lynch). Then I checked out The Butcher Shop, but more to come about that in another post.
