tomatillo time

I’m a little fuzzy about when exactly is tomatillo season around here, but they had some for sale at my local farmer’s market recently, alongside the tomatoes. So I grabbed some of both and roasted them in the oven until they were nearly liquified. Then I whizzed them with diced onion, chopped cilantro, and a little of this and that, and it made for some really yummy salsa. One taste of this, and I was reminded just how much better homemade salsa is than the jarred crap.
