I was all excited after seeing Slumdog Millionaire (holy cow, go see it right now!) on Saturday night to stop by the new Ramen Setagaya on St. Mark’s Place. Could it be as good as the original on First Ave.? A little known fact — the photo in my blog banner above is of ramen from Setagaya. If you’ve never been there, besides making incredibly good pork soup, they specialize in serving the noodles in a separate bowl. You have to dip and dunk and slurp your way through your meal. Messy, fun and so yummy. Anyway, you can skip the new Setagaya until at least next week. They don’t have a complete menu yet, and they don’t have the “separation noodles.” I politely explained to the waitress that I would be heading over to the original to satisfy my craving.
