bacon + sweet potatoes


It’s tough to go wrong with sweet potatoes, and it’s even tougher to go wrong with bacon. Put them together and add a little bourbon, and you’ve got one of the best soups ever. I made this Virginia Sweet Potato and Bourbon Soup for Thanksgiving, but I’ll be turning to this recipe again and again now that I know how good (and easy) it is. And it will be added to my long list of favorites from James Villas’ The Glory of Southern Cooking.
