Note: This drawing is now closed. About a year ago I was blogging about a cool blender drinks photoshoot. The book, 101 Blender Drinks by Kim Haasarud, is out now, and if you live in the U.S. or Canada and post a comment, I’ll enter you in a giveaway for a copy of the book. (If you Tweet the giveaway or post about it on Facebook, I’ll be extra happy, but you still only get one entry per person.) These are some of my snapshots from the shoot — the real photos in the book are by Alexandra Grablewski. Since I’m a mint addict, I just bought some mint ice cream to make the drink pictured above. For the full recipe, see below.
Those are some behind-the-scenes shots, including a photo of the food stylist, Brian Preston-Campbell, skillfully pouring from two pitchers at once.
And these are a few more snapshots I took of some of the frosty drinks. This is such a great book for summer. Remember to post a comment to be entered into the giveaway, and here is that minty drink recipe.
1 large scoop mint chocolate chip ice cream
1 1/2 ounces green creme de menthe
1 1/2 ounces white creme de cacao
Mint sprig, for garnish
Combine the ice cream, creme de menthe, and creme de cacao in a blender and blend for about 5 seconds. Add about 1/2 cup of ice and blend until smooth. Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with a mint sprig.
